Mendoza, province and its capital city are also the starting point of the marvelous route 40.
Topic: Mendoza Starting Point

Mendoza is a very important province specially linked to natural beauty and wonderful wines. Right in the bottom of the Andes Mountains, this province and its capital city are also the starting point of the marvelous route 40.

At the intersection of San Martin and Garibaldi St we find the original beginning to the magical route. The fact that the beginning is in the geographical middle is owed to the National Roads Direction; they thought it was way to long, so they partitioned it in North and South sections.

The pretty and clean modern looking city of Mendoza (yes, it's named after the province) is our starting point, the intersection is our departure line.

Crossed by the Route 40 to its northern and southern sections, the province of Mendoza is a paradise like earth of great wine, wonderful sights and adventurous locations. A couple of hours away from the capital we can enjoy trout fishing at the Atuel and Malargue rivers, delight ourselves with the breathtaking White lagoon or hit some of the antique wineries nearby.

Tapiz Winery on San Martin St. former route 40 path, offers a great option for winetasting, such does Ruca Malen winery in Agrelo. Norton and Chandon wineries are also at close distance from the city's capital. These wineries are a must for those who enjoy adventure and life's great pleasures.

Tupungato National Park on the side of Route 40 is a majestic location, where nature lovers will indeed feel at ease with the eternal snows covering mountain peaks, glaciers the Tupungato volcano, now out of use.

Not only is Mendoza a great place all year round for the variety of broad activities it offers, but especially in winter, so visitors enjoy one of the best ski centers in Latin America.

Indeed, Mendoza is heaven in earth for many of us, just see it for yourself, you'll never want to leave again.
